1347843 Fixing chairs together in rows PEL Ltd 2 Aug 1971 [13 Aug 1970] 39037/70 Heading A4U Articles of furniture such as tubular metal chairs comprising inverted U-shape seatsupporting frames 10, 11 are linkable side-byside by engagement of a U-shape fastening member 14, 15 welded to adjacent legs at one side of a chair, in a loop fastening member 13 welded to adjacent legs at the opposite side of an adjacent chair. Elements 14, 15 include two right-angle bends and are spaced in the fore and aft direction of the chair, and the loop 13 is inclined to the horizontal, the fastening members being disconnected by raising one chair while tilting it on an axis parallel to the fore-and-aft direction. In modifications, the elements 14, 15 are unconnected at their outer ends and are received in spaced apertures provided in each of two members or as a U-shaped member or annulus, or the fastening members are provided on corresponding front or rear legs of adjacent articles of furniture.
