Abstract

1347325 Strap wrench W RUTZ 26 Nov 1971 [22 Dec 1970] 54922/71 Heading B3N A hand tool for opening screw caps comprises a threaded shaft 2 mounted in a handle 1 and having a slide 4 thereon to which the ends of a draw cord 7 are attached. One end of the draw cord may be attached to the handle. The draw cord can be made of metal wire or plastics and may have a lining. Fig. 2 shows a modification in which an intermediate piece 11 is pivotably attached to the handle for gripping screw caps of a particular size. To move the intermediate piece out of the way it first has to be moved axially of pivot 14 to clear draw cord 7<SP>1</SP>.
