Abstract

1347224 Linking machine COMPLETT SpA 5 June 1972 [16 June 1971] 26188/72 Heading D1G The arm of a linking machine carries a thread tensioner 3 operable to impart to the needle thread a tension additional to that of the main tensioner 2 when no work is on the dial points at the working position, a sensing member 1 detecting work at that position and then rendering tensioner 3 inactive. As shown, the sensing member is a radially slidable bridge 1 biassed towards the dial by a spring to close a contact in the absence of impaled work between the bridge 1 and the dial and energise the electromagnet 6 to engage the discs of the tensioner 3 against the action of a spring 7. It is stated that a light activated diode, a photoelectric, capacitive or inductive switch could replace the bridge device shown. (For Figure see next page)
