1344320 Sliding seats with tubular metal frames M FARELLI 18 Oct 1971 [3 Dec 1970] 48413/71 Headings A4H and A4J A motor vehicle seat has a tubular metal frame comprising a closed rectangular loop 5 bent to form backrest and base portions 5b, 5a respectively, each base portion 5a being mounted between an inverted U-shaped cover member 9 and a slide rail 8, cover member 9 being connected to the rail 8 by rivets 10 extending through portion 5a or by welding the edges 9a of the cover to ridges 12 in the rail at spaced apart points. The frame may be reinforced by welding on each side thereof an L-shaped tubular metal arm 7.
