Abstract

1342312 Spacer for concrete reinforcing bars A DE CLERCQ 3 June 1971 18714/71 Heading E1W A spacer 1 for concrete reinforcing bars is formed as a toroid in which the section, on a diametral plane normal to the general plane of the toroid reveals two cross sectional profiles each of which is generally convex. Each cross sectional profile may be eliptical or of a form with constant diameter which may be circular. The toroid may be formed with axially directed bores 3 or with intersecting axial and radial webs 15, 17, 19 to reduce the amount of plastics or metal used in formation. A radial slot 21 may be provided to allow the spacer to be attached to a reinforcing bar 4 and the slot may be inclined to the general plane of the toroid.
