Abstract
1341800 Benzodiazepines F HOFFMANNLA ROCHE & CO AG 17 Nov 1972 [18 Nov 1971] 53212/72 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (R 1 =H, halogen, NO 2 ; R 2 =H, Me; B = phenyl, o-fluorophenyl, o-chlorophenyl, 2-pyridyl) are prepared by condensing a compound of the formula (R<SP>1</SP> 1 = H, halogen) with glycine in an inert dipolar aprotic solvent in the presence of phosphorus oxychloride or a phosphorus oxychloride/ phosphorus pentoxide mixture, optionally followed by nitration when R 1 = H. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 948,888, 972,967 and 972,968.
