1341757 Mounting parts on shafts etc; bearings SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN GmbH 19 April 1971 [3 Feb 1970] 22635/71 Headings F2U and F2A A machine component (e.g. a race 5, 13 of a bearing) is mounted frictionally in or on another component (e.g. a shaft or a housing) by ring 2 having a plurality of axial extensions 4 having a wedge-shaped axial section received in an equal number of complementary shaped recesses in the machine component. The end of the ring 2 remote from the extensions 4, may either be screw-threaded to receive a nut 7 with a lock washer 8, or have a shoulder 9 with shaped axial projections 11 (e.g. of sawtooth form) facing the race 5, and mating with a correspondingly shaped ring axially compressing an undulated spring washer against the race 5.
