Abstract
1340500 Isostatlcally compacting powders STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd 19 April 1971 [7 April 1970] 16398/70 Heading C7D [Also inDivisionsB5 and H1] A porous metal capacitor anode is made by isostatically compacting binder-free valve metal powder and anodising the green compact. As shown an elastomer container 1 is filled with powder and closed by elastomer lid 2. The container 1 is placed in the bore of a die member 3 to rest against a bottom member 4 of the die and compacted by piston 5. The container and lid may be made of PTFE, latex or polyurethane. The metal powder may be tantalum, titanium, niobium or aluminium.
