Abstract

1340426 Coating apparatus: agitating slurries GIULINI GmbH Gebr 29 March 1971 [28 March 1970] 8103/71 Headings B1C and B2L Apparatus for spray coating mould bodies 11 comprises a pump 6 with a suction tube 20 which delivers black wash from a reservoir 1 to either of the coating means 8, 13, excess coating material returning to the reservoir via a siphon 4 and the apparatus being provided with a by-pass tube 19 which returns a small percentage of the liquid from the pump to the reservoir to provide agitation therein. The tube 19 ends in an annular portion having holes 25. The siphon 4 acts as a trap for any contamniating particles picked up by the excess spray returning from the mould. In a modification (Fig. 1, not shown) the tube 19 is omitted and the inlet tube of the pump is provided with holes at its bottom end. In use part of the liquid drawn into the inlet is returned via the holes to agitate the liquid in the reservoir.
