Abstract

1,238,216. Laminated films. DOW CHEMICAL CO. 19 Sept., 1968 [21 Sept., 1967], No. 44521/68. Heading B5B. [Also in Division C3] Wrapping films are prepared by simultaneous extrusion of the following layers, (a) polyethylene, (b) a polymeric adhesive, (c) the vinylidene chloride copolymer composition of the invention, (d) polymeric adhesive and (e) polyethylene. Composition (c) contains in addition to vinylidene chloride copolymer a phosphorus-containing stabilizer and a polymer or copolymer of ethylene as plasticizer-lubricant (see Division C3). Suitable adhesives are ethylene copolymers, particularly ethylenevinyl acetate, and chlorinated polyethylene. The films are used to wrap sausages and cheese.
