Abstract

1,236,755. Spinning yarns. ALGEMENE KUNSTZIJDO UNIE N.V. 12 Aug., 1968 [12 Aug, 1967], No.38385/68. Headings D1F and D1W. A multifilament yarn is made by simultaneously crimping together two or more differently coloured or dyed yarns, separating the crimped yarns, individually entangling the crimped yarns with a compressed turbulent fluid and then plying the resulting yarns together into a strand. The strand, e.g. formed of three polyamide yarns of 1140D and comprising 64 filaments, is not prone to picking when it is processed on a tufting machine.
