Abstract
1,232,591. Shelving. WORTHINGTON & PACKER (INVENTIONS) Ltd. 13 May, 1968 [11 Feb., 1967], No. 6655/67. Heading A4B. A shelf 3 is provided at its ends with parallelogram section rubber blocks 1 which enable the assembly to be jammed between two opposed walls 4, 5. The block 1 may be secured to a plate 2, Fig. 1, secured by screws 2a or by adhesive to a shelf end. The wall engaging face a b of the block 1 may be formed with indentations (26), parallel grooves (27) or bosses (28), (Figs. 9-11). In another embodiment, Fig. 4, a U-shaped bracket 9 secured to the block 1 is secured over a shelf end by a screw 10. Alternatively, Fig. 6, the block 1 has a grooved head 14 clamped between plates 15, 16 screwed to the shelf end. In another form, Fig. 5, the block 1 is carried by an L-shaped bracket 11, 12 secured to the shelf underside. Alternatively, Fig. 7, a tongue 24 on the block 1 is held by a clip 19-22 fitted over the shelf end. In a further embodiment, Fig. 12, a grooved head 14a of the block 1 is supported between flanges 29, 30 of a metal shelf 3a.
