Abstract
1,197,769. Furniture joints. H. M. DIAZ, R. O. DIAZ and R. E. ROMERO. 22 Dec., 1967 [24 Dec., 1966], No. 58283/67. Heading A4H. [Also in Division F2] The open end 11 of a branch tube 12 bears against the wall 14 of a trunk tube 10 with centring elements 15 on the trunk tube extending a small distance into the branch tube, and a tensioner 18 is anchored at one end by a back plate 50 inside the trunk tube 10 and at the other end by screw threadedly engaging a back plate 20 inside another trunk tube 10<SP>1</SP>. The tensioner may be secured to a member inside the branch tube 12 (Figs. 6, 7, 8). The centring elements may be projections pressed from the trunk tube (Fig. 9), a plate secured to the trunk tube (Fig. 10), a number of pins or screws secured to the trunk tube (Figs. 11, 12), staples (Fig. 13) or recesses in the trunk tube and tongues in the branch tube (Fig. 14).
