Abstract

1,231,215. Identity cards. CEAVERKEN, SVENSKT FOTOGRAFISKT PAPPER OCH FILM A.B. 7 June, 1968 [9 June, 1967], No. 27154/68. Heading B6A. A tamper-proof identity card has a base card 1, an intermediate layer 6 and a photographic layer 10 integrally bonded together and coated with a layer 12 of a transparent epoxy-resin. The base card 1 may be made of paper provided with a water mark 2 and radio-active or fluorescent markings 3. The reverse side of the base card 1 and the top of the epoxy-resin may include fluorescent material which give different colours when exposed to ultra-violet irradiation. The intermediate layer 6, which is bonded integrally to the base card, includes barytes and may contain additionally radioactive or fluorescent markings 7. Inseparably attached to the layer 6 is the photographic layer 10 containing a photographic emuslion for photographic reproduction 15 of a person. The layer 10 further includes a signature 17 which jointly with the photographic reproduction 15 is authenticated by an embossing stamp 21. The photographic layer has also an additional print 23 in the form of wavy lines in different colours which are soluble in water and/ or organic solvents to change colour when tampered with. The base card may have its reverse side coated with a transparent epoxyresin.
