Abstract
1,230,526. Electro-photographic apparatus. RANK XEROX Ltd. May 21, 1969, [May 24, 1968] No. 26001/69. Heading G2H. An electro-photographic apparatus has an endless photo-conductive belt 12 which is uniformly charged by a corona charging device 13, exposed imagewise at a station A to an original D, and before development of the belt is selectively discharged by a lamp LMP-5, whereby areas not required to be developed e. g. areas between latent images are discharged by the lamp LMP 5. The lamp LMP 5 is controlled by a circuit controlled by a logic (L) Fig. 3 (not shown) such that the lamp is maintained in "stand-by" condition to produce less than full illumination. A short duration pulse triggers the lamp to produce full illumination when required to effect discharge.
