Abstract
1,229,829. Combined water boilers and space-heating radiators. G. BYARD. 4 Aug., 1969 [12 Aug., 1968], No. 38420/68. Heading F4S. A combined water boiler and space-heating radiator compirses two, spaced-apart, waterfilled hollow panels 1 which with upper, side and lower walls 3-6 define a combustion chamber in which is located one or more additional water-filled hollow panels 2 and a burner 19, all the panels 1, 2 being in a common water circuit and heat for space heating being radiated by the external surfaces of the panels 1. The panels shown are vertical and rectangular, the panels 2 having a smaller vertical dimension than the panels 1. A casing 24 surrounds the apparatus and its controls 25, and has openings (not indicated) in its side walls to expose the heatradiating surfaces of the panels 1, for space heating. One side wall of the combustion chamber (e.g. the wall 4) has connections 21, 22 respectively for combustion air and burner exhaust gases. The panels are interconnected by piping 12, 13, 14, 14A, and flow and return connections 15 (and 15A, Fig. 3) are provided as shown to connect the heater to the radiators of a central heating system.
