Abstract

1,224,669. Caps for containers. ARMSTRONG CORK CO. 6 Sept., 1968 [6 Sept., 1967], No. 42529/68. Heading B8T. A closure container 10 is provided with a protruding ring 13 integral with the crown 11 on which a liner material is moulded and retained by an undercut surface 14. The skirt may be threaded or otherwise provided with means to co-operate with the container. To effect such a configuration of the liner material a small amount of the latter is placed centrally in the closure and a cooled plunger is pressed into engagement with the heated liner material to force it into the undercut. Various other shapes, including grooves in the rings, may be provided for the retainer means.
