Abstract

1,032,735. Container closures. I. GOTH. Oct. 30, 1964 [Nov. 12, 1963], No. 44648/63. Heading B8T. A sealing device, which is either in the form of a screw or like cap b, Fig. 3, or a moulded wad a for a cap, Fig. 1 (not shown), comprises a sealing surface 5 to engage the top surface of a container neck 8 or a pouring device 7 therein, and a downwardly tapering centre portion 2 of closed bottom end to project into and engage the interior of the neck 8 or device 7 and provided with one or more annular capillary grooves 1. The wad, Fig. 1, is held in its cap by radial prongs 6. The groove 1 may be intersected by radial fins 3. In a further form, the cavity at the top of the centre portion 2 is closed by a disc.
