Abstract

1,223,235. Spray carburetters, regulating I.C. engines. DR-ING h. c. F. PORSCHE KG. June 18, 1969 [July 19, 1968], No.30834/69. Heading F1B [Also in Division G1]. An induction manifold passage 13 has a section 14 of resilient material the through-flow crosssection of which is variable by relatively movable plates 24 acting thereon. The plates 24 are operated by an electric motor 9 controlled in dependence upon the position of the accelerator pedal and at least one operating condition of the engine. The motor may be controlled by a device (7), Fig.1 (not shown), receiving signals from transmitters (5, 5<SP>1</SP>), e.g. potentiometers, connected to the induction manifold 2 and the accelerator pedal (4). The motor control device (7) also receives a signal from a transmitter 10 associated with the plates 24. The motor 9 moves the plates 24 through a ring 25 co-operating with a pinion 27 on the motor shaft 26. The shaft 26 is threaded into a fuel metering needle 29 guided axially by a member 30 located in a groove 31.
