Abstract
1,222,478. Terpolymers. STAMICARBON N.V. 15 May, 1969 [15 May, 1968], No. 24868/69. Heading C3P. Sulphur-curable copolymers of ethylene, at least one other α-alkene and at least one polyunsaturated compound are prepared by polymerization in a liquid medium using as catalyst an aluminium-halogen compound, a transition metal compound and an alkyl- or cyclo-alkyl magnesium compound. In the examples using a catalyst of diethylaluminium chloride, TiCl 4 and dibutyl magnesium the following terpolymers are produced: (a) ethylene/propylene/ butadiene - 1,3; (b) ethylene/propylene/dicyclopentadiene; and (c) ethylene/propylene/5- ethylidene-norbornene-2.
