An ultrasonic tool for seaming plastics material comprises roller-welding means 3 for rolling over the surface of the plastics material and means 2 for transforming longitudinal ultrasonic vibrations supplied along an axis of the tool into ultrasonic vibrations directed in the roller means 3, the means 2 being a cavity of circular cross-section flared outwardly, as shown.
