Abstract

1,221,670. Motor driving arrangements. G. FAULKNER. 28 Aug., 1969 [11 June, 1968], No. 27718/68. Heading H2A. A powered roller for driving an endless conveyer comprises a shell 10 having end plates 12 in which are journalled stationary stub-shafts 16, 16<SP>1 </SP>carrying at their inner ends a cradle 24 located within the shell and supporting an electric motor 26 which drives a pinion 28 meshing with a gear ring 29 mounted on the inside of the shell. Stub shaft 16<SP>1</SP> has a bore 32 through which the supply conductors 33 for the motor are led stub shaft 16 may also have a bore for supplying lubricant to the gearing. Openings 34 are provided in the end plates for the passage of cooling air.
