Abstract

1,219,481. Injection moulding. AMERICAN CAN CO. 13 Sept., 1968 [20 March, 1968], No. 43792/68. Heading B5A. [Also in Division B8] A collapsible container (see Division B8) is made by placing a laminated body 10, e.g. of polyethylene-aluminium foil, on to a former 40 having an annular recess 43. A frustro-conical disc insert 20, e.g. of ureaformaldehyde, propylene or nylon, is placed on the former 40 before or after the body 10. The former 40 is placed in a segmented mould 44, so inwardly bending the top end of the body 10, and an externally pressurized charge of thermoplastics material, e.g. polyethylene, forms a headpiece 17 and a screwneck 16 around the disc insert 20. A securinig lip 19 is formed in the annular recess 43.
