Abstract
1,219,317. Brightening polymer films. OSAKA SEIKA KOGYO K.K., and NIPPON KAYAKU K.K. 9 July, 1968, No. 32636/68. Heading C3P. [Also in Divisions C2 and D1] Polyethylene, and a mixture of polyvinyl chloride, titanium oxide and a tin-type stabilizer, are brightened by the addition of compounds of the formula Ar 1 being the complement of an optionally substituted benzene or naphthalene nucleus, Ar 2 being the complement of an optionally substituted naphthalene, acenaphthene or pyrazole nucleus, Ar 3 being optionally substituted benzene, naphthalene, pyridine or quinoline nucleus, X is oxygen, sulphur, -NH or -N- alkyl and Y is oxygen or sulphur, before kneading the mixture with a heated roll and pressing into a sheet.
