Abstract

1,218,818. Shovelling machines. RUSTONBUCYRUS Ltd. 28 Aug., 1968 [5 Sept., 1967], No 41007/68. Heading E1F. [Also in Division B8] A material-handling implement or shovel 1 is caused to move horizontally over part of its load-unload travel cycle by appropriate operation of a crowd mechanism, e.g. a ramp 28, acting on a pivotable quadrilateral frame 2, 15, 12, 16 to which an implement or shovelcarrying boom 6 is pivotally connected. Hoisting of the implement or shovel 1 at the forward end of the horizontal part of its travel cycle is controlled by hoist means, e.g. a ram 22, acting between the part 12 and the boom 6. Four versions of the frame are described.
