Abstract
1,218,105. Electro-chemical apparatus for finishing edges. AEG-ELOTHERM G. m. b. H. May 8, 1968 [Sept.16,. 1967], No.21742/68. Heading C7B. Electro-chemical apparatus for finishing e. g. deburring and/or rounding off an edge of a formed metal workpiece, e. g. a steel ring 1 with longitudinal slots 2 having sharp edges 3 on its internal surface, comprises a tool electrode 4 having an insulating layer 5 on its surface facing the workpiece, and at least one discharge zone, e. g. corresponding slots 6 connected by branch ducts 8 to a central bore 9 in the electrode, having an edge conforming geometrically with that of the workpiece and of cross-sectional area such that electrolyte delivered to the zone (from duct 8) emerges to flow along a linear path to and over the workpiece edge 3, e. g. through a conduit 10 formed between the side of the slot 6 and an insulating baffle 7 disposed therein. For debussing and/or rounding off the edge of a bore, electrolyte may be conveyed thereto from a bore (17, Fig. 4) in the electrode having a larger dimension than the workpiece bore (13).
