Abstract
1309491 Electro-machining NASSOVIA WERKZEUGMASCHINENFABRIK GmbH 27 April 1971 [25 May 1970] 11657/71 Heading C7B In electro-machining an anodic workpiece 7 e. g. a turbine blade Fig. 2 (not shown) using a cathodic tool electrode A having a machining surface of the same configuration as the desired machined surface of the workpiece wherein the electrode and workpiece are displaced separately or together relative to one another and electrolyte is pumped through the working gap 5a, b therebetween, the electrode A is divided into a plurality of separate insulated segments 1 each supplied successively with current e.g. by means of a thyristor or transistor switch 6 through fixing bolts 4 for fixing the segments to a common tool holder 2. If the direction in which successive segments are supplied with current is the same as that of electrolyte flow, short dead intervals are interposed when switching from one segment to the next. Preferably individual segments are connected according to their distance from the surface machined Fig. 3 (not shown).
