Abstract

1,217,032. Loom dobby. STAUBLI & CO. GEB. 21 March, 1968 [25 April, 1967], No. 13826/68. Heading D1E. A needle 5 which reads a pattern card 13 is moved with greater force further into the cylinder 12 if it feels a perforation such movement controlling the heald. Each needle 5, 5' is moved by a holder 21, 21' having a projection 27, 27' engagable by a pivoted driving lever 26, 26'. When the lever 26' swings anticlockwise from the initial position, the holder is urged towards the card by spring 28'. If the needle is resisted by the card arm 26b' of the lever passes the projection, while if a hole is felt the arm drives the holder and needle e.g. 5 positively into the cylinder. Such positive movement raises the baulk lever 1 from stop 11. If arm 26b' does engage the projection when the needle is resisted, relative movement between needde and holder is permitted by spring 15. In a modification (Fig. 2 not shown) a draw lever (30) is dropped into the path of a knife (14) when a supporting lever (32) is swung aside by a projection (31) on the holder. In a further embodiment, figure 7 the holder is moved by a reciprocating bar 56 which engages arm 57 which is carried outwards by stop 54a as the needle feels a hole. In a further embodiment (figs. 8, 9 not shown) the end of the holder adjacent the reciprocating bar is laterally offset from the remainder and has a cut-out (67) which engages the arm when the off-set part passes fixed guides and is thereby swung towards the bar as it feels a hole.
