Abstract

1,217,030. Hand-tool handles. STEPHAN WITTE & CO. 31 Oct., 1968 [21 Feb., 1968], No. 51675/68. Heading B4K. The rear major portion 3 of the handle of a screwdriver has a substantially triangular cross-section (Fig. 6) to facilitate hand-grip. The apices 8 may be flattened as shown. Extending from the portion 3 towards the shank are further portions 4, 5 of circular crosssection, which taper slightly towards their common juncture. The sides of the portion 3 may be slightly convex, and that portion may taper slightly towards the free end of the handle. The portion 3 may be provided with areas 10 of shallow grooves 11, or short, slightly curved grooves (12) (Fig. 7, not shown). In another embodiment (Figs. 1-3, not shown), the forward portion 5 is formed with recesses 6, and the apices 8 are rounded.
