Abstract

A comb 11 for a shearing device of the kind in which a toothed cutter is arranged to be oscillated in contact with the comb, comprises a number of teeth 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 separated by gullets 29 which are smoothly curved as shown in Fig. 3 and the sides of the teeth adjacent the gullets are smoothly profiled as shown in Figs. 6 and 8. The comb is produced by a casting process which renders unnecessary any machining operations on the teeth.
