Abstract

1,214,065. Sink strainer. PREMIER TOOL & DIE Ltd. 3 July, 1968 [2 May, 1968], No. 31823/68. Heading BID. A perforate, cup-like sink strainer 10, having a rubber washer 26 on its underside is supported by a spring steel clip 32 in a raised position, as shown, wherein water drains from the sink partly through the strainer and down the outlet drain 18, 'but can be pushed downwards so that washer 26 engages the sink and closes the outlet completely (Fig. 3, not shown). In the latter position, the inwardly sloping sections 40, 42 of the clip bear on the turned over sides of rectangular slot 64, formed in the base of the sink, to urge the strainer downwards and ensure a tight seal.
