Abstract

1,213,100. Valves. HOUDAILLE INDUSTRIES Inc. 6 May, 1969 [14 March, 1969], No. 23136/69. Heading F2V. A poppet check valve comprises a valve seat 19 in a passageway 14 having first and second shoulders 27, 24, respectively, a valve member comprising a resilient valve element 32 and a rigid valve element 31 fixed thereto, the first and second shoulders being angularly offset so that when urged by a spring 21 the resilient valve element 32 seats on the first shoulder 27 before the rigid valve element 31 seats on the second shoulder 24. Preferably the rigid valve element 31 is made of metal and the resilient valve element 32 is made of rubber.
