Abstract

1,209,969. Cermets. WIELAND-WERKE A.G. 14 Oct., 1968 [29 Feb., 1968; 15 June, 1968], No. 48677/68. Heading C1J. [Also in Divisions B3 and C7] An extrusion die consists of a composite material having finely divided metallic and oxide ceramic components, and wherein the metal components, amounting to 20 to 85% by volume of the total amount, comprise at least 50% molybdenum and/or tungsten, while the oxide ceramic components comprise at least 50% zirconium oxide, the oxide ceramic components also comprising up to 10% by weight of calcium oxide or magnesium oxide. The metal components may contain up to 50% by weight of chromium and the oxide ceramic components may contain up to 50% by weight of thorium oxide, hafnium oxide and/or titanium oxide.
