Abstract

1,208,705. Detachable seat backs. LA-Z-BOY CHAIR CO. 26 June, 1969 [19 July 1968], No. 32472/69. Heading A4J. The back 14 of a chair is detachable for shipping and is secured in use by slide brackets 34, one on each side of the back, engaging on upstanding links 15 and locking in position by a cam 42 engaging a slot 46. The link is pivoted (Fig. 2) at (19) and the back is adjustable for angle, being locked in position by a thumb screw (32). It may also be applied to a reclining chair.
