Abstract
1,205,512. Dimerizing olefins. BRITISH PETROLEUM CO. Ltd. 2 May, 1969 [13 June, 1968], No. 28128/68. Heading C5E. Olefins are dimerized by contact at an elevated temperature below 300‹ C. with a zeolite X catalyst derived from an alkali metal based X-type zeolite by exchanging 30-60% of initially available cations for nickel ions and 1-30% for Ca, Cd, Zn or Mn ions, the maximum total ion exchange being 80%. In examples propylene is dimerized.
