Abstract

1,205,135. Distributer. W. T. TEAGLE. 25 Aug., 1969 [30 May, 1968], No. 25959/68. Heading A1D. A distributer comprises a wheeled container 2 in one end of which is journalled a rotary spreader 9 for distributing material laterally and in which a wall 52 is movable to feed material towards the spreader, both spreader and wall being driven by the power take-off shaft of a tractor. A rotor 9 is journalled in the front wall 4 of the container and has blades 11, 12, gusset plates 13, and curved blades 14 fixed on to its face, spreaders 15 and cutters 16 attached so as to be pivotable within limits on the periphery of the rotor and flails 17 fixedly attached to the periphery. The movable wall 52 is intermittently advanced towards the rotor by winding cables (50), Fig. 4 (not shown), on to drums (48) mounted on a transverse shaft (46) at the front of the container and driven via an adjustable pawl and ratchet wheel (45). This wall may be returned for further loading of the container by lifting it up on to its rollers 64 which run on the top 53 of the sides of the container and winding up the cable 49 via handle 59. Material is distributed through an aperture 25 and over the opposite side of the container, being guided by the plate 26. If liquid is to be distributed, the rotor may be entirely encased in a housing (67), Fig. 6 (not shown), having a variable aperture (68).
