Abstract
1,204,749. Electro-photography. XEROX CORP. Oct.14, 1968 [Oct.17, 1967], No.48544/68. Heading G2H. In the electro-photographic process of Specification 1,150, 381 which comprises exposing a cohesively weak, electrically photo-sensitive layer sandwiched between two members across which an electric field is applied and then separating the two members so that the unexposed areas of the layer adhere to one member and the exposed areas adhere to the other member, the photo-sensitive layer is rendered cohesively weak with an "activator" (which may partially dissolve or swell the layer), said activator containing a plastics material which strengthens the images formed and enables them to be polished to improve their colour rendering. The activator may comprise a solution or dispersion of the plastics material in an insulating liquid or low m.pt. solid.
