Abstract

1,204,217. Refrigerating. E. MITTELSTEN-SCHEID, [trading as VORWERK & CO.]. 14 Feb., 1968 [17 Feb., 1967], No. 7216/68. Heading F4H. The pump chamber 17 of the thermosyphonic pump 16 in an absorption refrigeration system is located in a domed chamber 8 secured to the side of the generator casing 2 and is heated by weak solution which enters the chamber through an opening 10 and leaves via the inner tube 12<SP>1</SP> of the liquid heat exchanger. Pump 16 discharges into riser 5, above a rectifying section 6, the pump and riser being connected by spot welding 19 for heat exchange purposes. Pump 16 may be insulated. In a modification (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) the generator easing is substantially horizontal and the domed chamber is secured to one of its end faces.
