Abstract

1,203,134. Combine harvester. WISSENSCHAFTLICH-TECHNISCHES ZENTRUM f³r LANDTECHNIK. 22 March, 1968, No. 14062/68. Heading A1F. A combine harvester includes an elevator 10 and means 17 for separating excess material from the crop layer to be presented to the threshing drum 18. The lower roller 13 is movable and is connected to a sensing device 15 which controls the separating means 17. The excess material may be fed back along the upper run of the conveyer 10 and recirculated. In an embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the excess material is fed into a storage chamber where it is compressed and is then fed to the threshing drum in metered quantities whenever the quantity of material sensed by the means 15 drops below a predetermined level.
