Abstract

1,202,883. Shelving. SAVAGE & PARSONS Ltd. 25 Oct., 1968 [27 Oct., 1967], No. 49042/67. Heading A4B. A shelf support structure comprises an upright 10 with a series of vertically spaced pairs of slots 12, a cantilevered bracket 13 comprising separate upper and lower parts 14, 15 provided with respective pairs of hooks 19, 25 for selective engagement with the slots 12, stops 22, 26 on the parts 14, 15 which bear on the front face of the upright 10 to limit pivotal movement of the parts 14, 15 towards each other, holes (28), 29 in the parts 14, 15 which are out of alignment when the stops 22, 26 rest against the upright 10, and a bolt 30 extending through the holes (28), 29 then they are brought into alignment by pivoting the parts 14, 15 towards each other to cause resilient deformation of the upright 10 and/or parts 14, 15. The upper part 14 comprises two, interconnected, spaced, side-by-side plates which are received between the limbs of the U-section lower part 15. Pairs of laterally spaced brackets 13 may support shelves or rails. The lowermost bracket 13 and the upright 10 may be fitted with adjustable feet 35 to provide a free standing structure.
