Abstract

1,202,353. Blow-moulding; pallets. D. ROWLANDS and R. CHARTERTON. 15 Aug., 1967 [23 Aug., 1966; 22 Sept., 1966], Nos. 37851/66 and 42383/66. Heading B5A. [Also in Division B8] Pallets are formed from plastics material and comprise upper and lower walls connected by peripheral walls and having depressions in the exterior of the pallet which engage a part of the opposite wall to form pillars and at least one depression embraces a reinforcing element, which has been separately formed. Depressions may be formed opposite one another being welded together. The pallet may also include depressions to receive the forks of a lift truck. The reinforcing elements are preferably flush with the surface of the pallet. At least part of the outer surface of the reinforcing element is plastics, becoming bonded to the plastics material of the pallet itself. The pallet may be formed by blow-moulding from a tubular extrudate each reinforcing element being inserted into the parison through an aperture in the face of the mould half.
