The flue-gases from an inlet 2 are washed by being bubbled through a body of washing liquid in a vessel 1, the lower end of the inlet 2 having a grid filter at its lower end. Washed flue-gas is withdrawn by a suction device 4 through a duct 5 with a control damper 6.
