[Also in Division C3] Ribonucleic acid containing materials, for example yeast or animal tissues, are hydrolysed in an aqueous medium at a pH of at least 12 for a period of at least 3 hours, whereby mixtures of 2<SP>1</SP>-, 3<SP>1</SP>-, and 2<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>1</SP>- ribonucleotides are obtained. The product may be neutralised, and employed in the flavouring of dog foods.
