A garment for supporting sanitary or incontinence pads comprises an elastic waistband 1 the ends of which are fastened in variable overlapping relationship and a liquid impervious crutch piece 5 having a pair of elastic straps 6, 7 at each end adjustably fastened to the waistband, all the fastenings 2, 3, 4, 8 provided comprising complementary filament hook and loop type fastening strips.
