Abstract

1299371 Clamps QVF Ltd M E DODD and P E AUSTIN 24 March 1970 [15 Jan 1969] 2342/69 Heading E2B A clamping device 1 has arms 2, 3 connected together by an integral portion 9 which has a reduced cross-section and serves as a hinge. The arms 2, 3 have ends 4, 5 respectively, each having a socket or slot 6 to receive a clamping member 7 therein. The member 7 may be a bolt, for example, which may have a nut (not shown) or may screw into one of the arms. The device may be made of steel or of synthetic plastics material such as polypropylene or nylon. The cross-section of the device may be circular or square and the cross section of the portion 9 may be circular, oval or square. The arm 2 is provided with a boss 10 for connecting the device to a rod (not shown), for example, the boss being mounted on the arm by a member 11.
