Abstract

1298171 Separating off a stack of articles NAGEMA KOMBINAT VEB 26 April 1971 11394/71 Heading B8C A device for separating off a stack of articles, e.g. biscuits, from a column K in a shaft 1 and for transferring the separated stack on to a conveyer 6, comprises a holder 7 for supporting the end of the column and displaceable for lowering the articles and the shaft, a barrier 10 for preventing lowering of further articles during the transferance, a gripper 3 beside the shaft for reception and transference of the stack, the gripper comprising clamping jaws 3a, 3b, and a transfer device between the shaft and the gripper and comprising a push-member 4b displaceable laterally of the shaft to separate the stack from the column K and move the stack to the clamping jaws, and a transfer plate 4a displaceable laterally of the shaft to beneath the gripper 3 to support the stack during its movement from the shaft to the gripper. As shown, the biscuits are fed to four stack shafts, 1 secured in a carrier 2. The gripper 3 comprising jaws 3a, 36 is operated pneumatically through a parallel linkage system 15 to lift the articles divided off into a cup 5. The barrier 10 is also pneumatically operated.
