Abstract

1297366 Electric heating blanket IMI SANTON Ltd 9 June 1971 [23 April 1970] 19563/70 Heading H5H A heating device for a fluid container comprises a thermally and electrically insulating flexible blanket 3 to one side of which an apertured conductive foil heating element 4 is secured, means being provided for securing the remote edges of the device together in overlapping relationship when the device is formed in to a cylinder. The edges may be secured by laces and eyelets or by a separable slide fastener A plug 9 is secured to the heating element, bus bars being provided for the purpose. The heating element 4 may be embedded in plastics film 10 or provided on one surface of the film. The film may be polyester or polypropylene and it may be replaced by asbestos paper or fibre-glass. The blanket 3 may be glass fibre wool or fine retardant polyurethane foam with a cloth cover 11 on its exposed surface.
