Abstract

A heat insulating sheet suitable for covering sports grounds comprises a sheet of aluminium foil bonded to a waterproof backing sheet, e.g. waterproof paper, with an interlayer of strengthening wires threads or bands, which interlayer may be insulated to permit electric heating of the sheet. Reinforced longitudinal edges may be provided to allow the material to be secured to the ground. The sheet may be in the form of strips mounted on rollers, the latter being positioned on two opposite sides of the area to be covered and rolled across the area by winches, thereby unwinding the strips.
