1296265 Carrier bags EQUITABLE BAG CO Inc 2 April 1970 [14 April 1969] 15655/70 Heading A4G A carrier bag 10 has reinforced top flaps which fold over one another to provide aligned slits or slots 32 through which are passed a tubular plastics handle 36 secured to a separate backing panel 38, the slit or slots 32 being of smaller dimensions than the tubular handle so that the sides of the slit grip the handle and frictionally hold it in place and prevent the flaps from opening. The handle is secured to the panel by staples and is normally placed through the bottom flap so that, on erection of a folded bag, it is only necessary to pass the handle through the slit 30 of the top flap.
