Abstract

1296051 Filter housing CAV Ltd 13 Feb 1970 [6 March 1969] 11921/69 Heading B1D [Also in Division E2] A housing 18 enclosing a pleated paper filter element is secured to a head 10 with inlet and outlet connections by an annular ring 26 with outwardly extending lugs 29 which make bayonet couplings in grooves 30, 30a, in the annular rim 11 of the head. Fig. 2 shows the grooves extending right through the rim, but in reality they extend only part way from its inner face. Ring 26 is formed of butt-welded metal strip and fits over housing 18 to engage the lower downturned edge of upper perforate closure plate 23, thus urging the housing rim into contact with sealing ring 25. (Fig. 4, not shown). A resilient spigot 24 simultaneously engages boss 16. Ring 26 has handles (31).
